. Aveley Marsh

Aveley Marsh was the first in a group of projects realized by Landroom for London's Inner Thames Marshes. Landscape conservation and public access infrastructure was designed in close collaboration with hydrology and ecologist specialists. Work on a reserve‑wide strategy was followed by design and installation of new wetland areas, boardwalks, bridges and furniture.

The classroom and public outlook building are founded on wooden piles and sit above the newly created wetland.

. Marshland Discovery

A public facility for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds' nature reserve at Purfleet. It includes a new public outlook shelter, an outdoor field classroom, and indoor base used by school parties. A viewing deck is surrounded by a high open timber screen. This deck leads directly into the public outlook room.

. Rainham Marsh

The latest works completed include new wetlands, paths, boardwalks, bridges, and livestock management infrastructure. The new path link to the river and the new paths and boardwalk north of A13 are now open to free public access. Cattle are now grazing on the west part of the marsh for the first time in over twenty years.

. Rainham Bridges

A suite of six new foot and cycle bridges located on the western-most section of Rainham Marsh, forming part of the new Rainham to Purfleet path. The structural elements are fabricated in a weathering grade steel, chosen for its durability and low maintenance. The photographs document the process of fabrication and installation.

. The Trackway

The Rainham Trackway provides significant improvements to a strategically important pedestrian and cycle route, linking Rainham village to the Thames. It forms a new threshold to Rainham marsh with a new direct route down to marsh level from the existing bridge across the Eurostar line.

Three of the final published documents. Each area has its own coordinating document. The 'Primer', sets out the arguments underpinning the strategy.

. East London Green Grid

The East London Green Grid is a regional green-space planning strategy protecting and enhancing green open space across the whole of east London. New coordinated strategic policies ensure the safeguarding of existing sites and the creation of new green space as a primary consideration in all future developments.
